• What to expect

    We like to make things easy for you at Burlton Cottages, offering completely flexible stays – arrive and leave on any day you like, subject to a minimum of two nights – we re open all year. Here's everything you need to know about your self-catering holiday near Shropshire.

What's included

On arrival you'll be warmly welcomed by on-site owners Rachel and Gerry with delicious Shrewsbury biscuits. They will show you around the cottage and give you a tour of the Spa facilities. All of the holiday cottages have a welcome pack with Shrewsbury biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar and milk so you can relax with a cuppa after your journey. Unlimited superfast broadband makes it easy to stay connected during your stay. The big, comfy beds are made up for you with luxury quality cotton bed linen and each guest will have a soft bath sheet and hand towel provided. In the cottages you'll find maps and guides of the area and guest information to help you plan your stay, and books and board games for you to enjoy and reconnect with your friends and family.  Cots and highchairs are available, helping make your journey a little lighter. The cottages are all fully-equipped and supplies are provided. You also get complimentary toiletries, bath towels, swimming towels (for all), robes and slippers (adults only). You are free to walk the farmland on our estate to enjoy the outdoor space. This is your very own private bit of Shropshire countryside. Every day you can enjoy two hours exclusive use of The Spa at Burlton between 8am and 8pm. Bookings for the swimming pool to be made on our electronic diary system. Prior to arriving a link to our very informative Guest Information App is sent to you so that you have all the information you need at your fingertips. Green credentials We fully embrace renewable energy, regenerative farming and are as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Check-in, EV Charging and parking

Arrival time at Burlton Cottages is from 4.00pm onwards, check-out is 10.00am. There is a two-night stay minimum, unless you are booking within one week of arrival.  There is ample, private off-road parking. Secure bike storage is available upon request. A Rolec EV charging point is available to use. This will incur an additional charge based on our electric rate and the measured amount used.

Supplementary packages

Shropshire breakfast hamper You can order a Shropshire breakfast hamper when you book your holiday at Burlton Cottages, or any time up to three days prior to arrival. The hamper includes locally-sourced bacon, sausage, eggs, bread, butter, jam, Shropshire Granola and milk. The hamper will be in your cottage on arrival and costs £35. Ready meals and catering Just because we provide everything you need to cook your own meals during your stay, it doesn't mean you have to!  On the Guest App I provide details of local caterers who can provide supper meals. Please order in advance, or on your booking form. The meals can can then be delivered in advance and will be left in your cottage ready for your stay.

General information

  • We request that Burlton Cottages and Spa is a no-smoking site.
  • Due to our rural location, nothing other than loo paper to be flushed down the toilets.
  • Only guests booked into the cottages have permission for complimentary use of The Spa at Burlton.
  • If you have any special dietary requirements please let Rachel know so she can ensure the welcome biscuits are suitable.
  • Most major supermarkets deliver to Burlton Cottages. Please state your name, the cottage you are staying in and arrange a time when you are free to meet the driver and unpack your groceries. The address to use is Cottage Name, Burlton Cottages, Charity Farm, Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY4 5SX.
