Relax and unwind in your own little piece of rural Shropshire

Burlton Cottages and Spa is located on Charity Farm, a family-run private farming estate. It is a beautiful rural hideaway where you can unwind, relax and forget about the outside world. We have plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. You may need your wellies in winter though! Mindfulness Walks - the lovely Amanda Roberts offers "Escape into Nature" walks. Celebrate, enjoy and deepen your connection with the natural world around us. Take in the surroundings of private natural woodlands and open fields here at Burlton with a mindfulness walk, whilst stopping to take in the beauty of the environment. By focusing on your senses, feeling of belonging and being present the walk will include a meditation to help free your mind and appreciate our connection with the natural world. Dining al fresco

Each holiday cottage has its own private enclosed seating area immediately outside. We also have a communal BBQ area with a Kadai Firebowl and Pizza Oven. Logs are provided for your stay.  There is a charcoal BBQ too, please provide your own charcoal.  Available April to September only. So when the weather plays nicely you can sit and enjoy a refreshment in the peace and tranquillity of our rural retreat. We are in a dark skies area which makes star-gazing truly spectacular on a clear night.

Outside play areas

When was the last time you just had fun outdoors? It’s a fantastic way to reconnect with friends and family, slow down and switch off from the modern world. With pitch and putt (April to September only), football goals and open space to run around in, there’s lots to keep even the most energetic of you entertained.

Walks and wildlife

You are free to walk and explore the farmland during your holiday at Burlton Cottages. Look at it as your own private bit of Shropshire whilst you are here. Enjoy stunning walks right from your cottage door, with abundant wildlife every step of the way. During the day a cheeky woodpecker often makes an appearance, and you might just spot a barn owl swooping by at dusk. Maps and suggested walks are provided to help you discover the area.

If you bring your dog we also have an enclosed mowed grass paddock where you can let your dog off the lead for a run around. Because there is no commercial livestock on the farm, it’s safe to let your dog off the lead when you are walking around the private estate. Just watch out they don’t cross a closed fence.
